Perfection is a never-ending goal

Striving for perfection can be a blessing and a curse. It might allow you to achieve the next level of execution - it might result in solutions never before achieved. It can also be a never-ending project that leads nowhere - never coming out, or worse yet, missing the market altogether as you’re striving to solve every conceivable problem.

Perfection should be a goal, but it has to be seen as a long term goal. Perfection doesn’t have to be achieved on the first try - you might need to pass through the first beta version, and the subsequent improved version, and perhaps yet another version that implements all the learning from the previous versions. All the meanwhile striking for perfection.

The trick is to get your work out there - even if it isn’t perfect - and yet, continue to strive for perfection as you continue.
