How will they remember you?
Whether it’s your brand, your product, your service, or you, the person - you’re out there. You’re facing customers and you’re displaying your work. There are many people out there just like you, doing similar things - hoping to achieve success through their work, through their brand, through their product or service. So, how do you stand out? How will people remember you? What makes you unique?
If someone went through the trouble of becoming your customer - what will they remember you for? Is it the price? Or is it value? Or maybe it’s something that speaks to that customer deeply. Or maybe it’s something that delighted them - showed them something they didn’t expect. What will be the thing that makes that customer tell the story about your product or service?
If you just bought a Tesla - you’ll tell your friends about Elon Musk and his drive to for a sustainable future
If you bought a pair of jeans from Hiut - Maybe you’ll talk about the fact that they stand behind their jeans and will repair them for the life of that jean.
If you bought the Nike Zvesdochka - Maybe you’ll talk about Marc Newson and his design prowess.
I think there’s an opporuntity to define what the customer will take away when you’re building your product. It’s easy to get lost in the development process and the pricing and the delivery and making sure you’re on time - sometimes we tend to forget to delight the customer. Sometimes we forget to include the things the customer will remember - the things that they will describe to their friends - the things they will value.
Packaging. Design. Hidden messages. Hidden surprises. Story. There are many things that can set you apart. It’s your choice.
So, how will people remember you?
